This rare combination of colors is called Van Gogh Larimar. Van Gogh Larimar is the rarest combination of colors that comes out the mines of Bahoruco Dominican Republic where the Larimar is found. This particular type of minerals are found with in the veins of where the Larimar is mined. The locals called it carbon, it translation to English is ash. It found in a well formed tube awich has a slight green crust on the outer part of the rock. Although carbon is not rare the Van Gogh’s combination is.

What qualifies as a Van Gogh?  Van Gogh Larimar has to have a minimum of four different mineral colors,  it must include Larimar blue Pectolite. other colors can be Red, Khaki Green, Orange, Green, White or Grey. Any four combination will qualify as Van Gogh Larimar.
